 Iron is a mineral supplement that is useful to prevent and solve iron deficiency anemia.  Iron i.e. a mineral that plays an important role in the compilation of hemoglobin.  Hemoglobin ie component of red blood cells whose job is to deliver oxygen to all body tissues.

 Si male age 14–18 years: 11 mg per day
 Small female aged 14–18 years: 15 mg per day
 Male age 19 years and over: 8 mg per day
 Female age 19–50 years: 18 mg per day
 Women age 51 years and over: 8 mg per day
 Pregnant women: 27 mg per day
 Breastfeeding mothers: 9 mg per day
 Method Consuming Iron Supplements Correctly
 Vitamin and mineral supplements are taken to complement the needs of the body to vitamins and minerals, mostly when intake of vitamins and minerals from food not can   fulfills the needs of the body.

 Use iron supplements tablets or capsules appropriate with the descriptions and signs printed on the packaging.  If in doubt, talk with your doctor to get to know the ideal appropriate dose of your circumstance.  Keep in mind, the administration of injectable iron supplements will be carried out by a doctor or medical officer under the supervision of a doctor.

 For iron supplements syrup, shake the bottle before taking it.  Use the measuring spoon or dropper provided in the box to determine the dose.  Do not use tablespoons or teaspoons common because the dose may be different.

 Iron supplements are more easily absorbed by the bloodstream if taken 1 hour before eating or when the stomach is still on an empty condition.

 Store iron supplements in a closed container in a temperature room, in a dry area and away from heat and exposure to light the sun then.  Keep this supplement out of reach of kids-kids.

 Interactions of Iron Supplements with Other Drugs
 Usage of iron concurrently with other drugs can cause the effect of drug interactions.  Some of the drug interaction effects that could appear namely:

 Decreased levels of bisphosphonates, levodopa, methyldopa, penicillamine, entacapone, levothyroxine, or tetracycline or quinolones classification antibiotics
 Decreased effectiveness of iron if applied with antacids, or drugs containing zinc, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, or trientin
 Decreased iron levels in the gastrointestinal tract if applied with cholestyramine or chloramphenicol
 Except drugs above, avoid also consuming iron supplements along with certain foods or beverages, such as milk and its processed products, whole wheat bread, cereals, tea, and coffee.  But this because food and drink such things can reduce absorption of iron by the body.

 Side Effects and Dangers of Iron
 Iron supplements are safe if consumed appropriate regulations application and advice doctor.  Immediately, in some people, may occur certain side effects, such as constipation, nausea, vomiting, bitter mouth, black bowel movements, stomach pain, or even diarrhea.

 Check with the doctor if side effects such things are getting worse or not not getting better.  Immediately to the doctor if you experience response allergy after consuming iron supplements.
